God said to Abraham, you and your descendants must agree to keep the covenant with me.
God’s covenant of circumcision
So what is this covenant of circumsision?
The covenant is that he will circumcise every baby boy when he is 8 years old,
Including slaves born in his home or bought from a foreign land.
And this is to show there is a covenant between Abraham and God;
Also, it’s a physical sign of everlasting covenant.
The Lord said to him, if any male is not circumcised, he will not be considered as one of my people.
God changed Sarai name to Sarah
God said to Abraham, and from today; you will no longer call your wife Sarai
From now, she will be Sarah.
I will bless her and give you a son by her
She will become the mother of nations
Abraham bowed and began to laugh when he thought.
“Can a man have a child when he’s 100 years old?
Can Sarah have a child when she’s 90?
God promised Abram a Son and Ishmael a Nations
Abraham said to God, why not let Ishmael be my heir?
But the Lord said, Sarah will bear a Son
You will call him Isaac.
I will keep my covenant with him and his descendants.
However, for Ishmael, I will bless him.
He will be the father of twelve princes.
He will make great nations from his descendants.
But I will keep my covenant with Isaac, your Son.
